Q How many stages are there in the metrological certification process?

A  It is divided into the following stages:

  1. At the application stage, the quality inspection agency submits an application and submits relevant materials;
  2. At the initial inspection stage (if necessary), assist the quality inspection organization to establish and improve the quality system and make it operate normally according to the requirements of the specification;
  3. In the pre-examination stage (if necessary), conduct a mock review in accordance with the requirements of the specification, find non-conformities and request rectification;
  4. Formal review, the competent authority will form a review team to review the organization applying for certification;
  5. In the reporting, auditing, and certification issuing stages, the product quality inspection institutions that pass the assessment shall be reviewed, approved, and issued by the competent administrative department of metrology of the people ’s government, and they shall agree to use a uniform metrological certification mark. Failure to issue a notice of assessment results;
  6. At the re-examination stage, the quality inspection agency shall conduct an expiry review every five years. Each agency shall submit an application to the original certification authority half a year in advance. The material items to be reported when applying are the same as when applying for certification for the first time;
  7. In the stage of supervision and random inspection, the administrative department in charge of metrology can arrange the supervision and random inspection of the units that have obtained the metrological certification certificate within five years to promote the construction of quality inspection institutions and the effective operation of the quality system.
